- Do you purchase the materials? At what margin?
- Can I see 2–3 projects completed in the last year?
- Who will be on-site every day — the foreman or subcontractors?
- How do you handle emergency situations?
- What is the payment schedule — deposit, stages, final balance?
- What is covered by the warranty and for how many years?
Answers like "I don't know" or "it'll be fine" are a sign that you should keep looking.
